Tasting Note:

Im Sonnenshein's limestone soils give this Riesling a completely different shape to others in the Rebholz range, more akin to some of the southern Rheinhessen bottlings of Battenfeld-Spanier or Wittman. The finish pulses with those chalky, broad mineral strokes, a phenolic presence in amongst an almost creamy texture, and it is only after some time that sweet white peach notes and floral accents appear. "Riesling pretending to be Chablis" was Valentin's take, and it's true that vineyard here almost trumps the variety. Just 2000 bottles produced from 60 year old vines.
