Tasting Note:

The Rebholz riesling vines in this historic vineyard (which happens to be the highest altitude GG in the Pfalz) sit in the uppermost section, perfectly south facing, on the incredibly old 'Rotliengendes' soils. The high iron content of these soils imbues these wines with a deep minerality. The 2016 clearly needs time, but already the aromas of fruit and stone are impossible to disentangle. On the very intense yet beautifully balanced palate notes of herbs and hay are woven between tangy apricot, mango and salty mouth-watering slate notes. Every inch the Grand Cru.
