Tasting Note:

The flagship vineyard in the range is the imposing Schlossberg, which looms over the village of Klingenberg an imposing wave of vines. Extremely steep, it is composed of terraced red sandstone soils which Benedikt farms organically and biodynamically – estimating 2500 man hours per hectare per year. Precise hedgerow berry and rosehip aromas, then spice and crushed stones in this aromatically complex yet texturally refined Spatburgunder of real class. Iron tinged fruits are layered upon flowers and salty stones, while talc fine tannins create structure and tension – super impressive.
