Anthos Brachetto

Obscure variety indigenous to Piedmont, found particularly around Alexandria, although there are also plantings in the Roero. At their best the wines are unique and unforgettable, boasting fragrant aromas of rose petal and geranium. The wines can be enjoyed slightly chilled in the summer as an aperitif, though it is also matched to great affect in North Italy with vegetable soups, particularly pumpkin.
