Tasting Note:

Confusingly this is a single vineyard in its own right that has nothing to do with the Rabaja. The Rabaja Bas is west facing, (as opposed to south west facing for Rabaja) and is very steep, sitting at the top of the hill above Paje. Open, fragrant but very detailed sweetly-scented fruit hit you immediately on the nose. The palate is a little more restrained but reveals lovely strawberry fruit with a bit of crunch to the fortifying tannins. Long ample but fine. This coats the palate yet there is such lacy, intricate definition to the fruit. Caressing and expansive flavours. A wine that creeps up on you quietly but gradually reveals its complexity and glory on the lengthy finish. Superb. Aged for 24 months in large used Slavonian oak casks.
