Tasting Note:

A south-east facing vineyard from Verduno, a commune where there is less calcium in the soils, producing softer wines. The area is also influenced by the closer proximity to the river where there are big day/night temperature differences that help build up aroma in the wines. Akin to a beefed up Barbaresco, silky smooth and super ripe fruit, floral notes of cherry blossom and cherries steeped in liqueur, upfront sensual ripe forest fruit with a juicy freshness offsetting a seductive sweetness. Excellent vitality for the relatively warm 2011 vintage. A great effort. Aged for three years in large Slavonian oak casks.
