Cerbaiona

The estate was founded in 1977 by Diego and Nora Molinari. The vineyard spans just three hectares on the north eastern side of Montalcino at 400 metres above sea level, planted with cuttings from the Biondi Santi estate. This micro-Brunello is anything but micro in style, very much made in the grand and traditional Biondi Santi style. The winemaking is non-interventionist and ageing takes place for 30 months in large Slavonian oak casks. Cerbaiona is a Brunello for cellaring that displays intensity, muscle, freshness and complexity. In 2015 Diego, at the age of 84, sold the estate.
