Tasting Note:

Gaja’s first single vineyard, 1967 its debut vintage. The vines are old and the slopes are south-facing. This is the most concentrated but also the most backward of the three single vineyards. It was not shining as brightly as Costa Russi and Sori Tildin when first bottled but all of the elements are there to suggest a very long ageing potential. Deep, dark flavours of autumn berry fruit, cassis, spice, stones, iodine and minerals. This is tight packed and not giving much away but it is impressively profound and hugely long.
