Tasting Note:

A bundle of small, sweet, aromatic berry fruits, warm, generous and spicy with a mineral kick. There was no Monfortino made in 2011 that cask was blended into this Cascina Francia. Suave with a nice gently gripping tannic framework, touches of red fruit, liquorice spice and cinnamon. Beautifully balanced. A limestone-based vineyard in the Serralunga commune that sits 450 metres above sea level, that yields wines of taut, mineral structures. Ageing is for up to 4 years in large used oak “Botti.”
