Tasting Note:

Juicy floral and very classy indeed, this is full flavoured but not remotely heavy, a glorious expression of Barolo offering voluptuous scented fruit notes of bramble, cherry and loganberry with hints of liquorice, star anise and stones. Less blockbuster than the Santo Stefano cuvee perhaps, but much more “Mascarello” in nuance, elegance and drinkability. A very fine southwest facing limestone clay dominated vineyard in Castiglione that yields broad, sensual Barolos. Aged for 36 months in large used wooden cask.
