Tasting Note:

A little more reticent than usual but some aeration reveals beautifully bright violet and rose tinged fruit. Elegant, clear and floral with a crisp, fine-grained tannic structured providing a solid foundation for the soft, delicate fruit. A large south-west facing vineyard within the Castiglione Falleto commune where the soils can vary a lot. By and large it is clay dominant. However Mascarello have a particularly sandy parcel, giving the resulting wine a tendency towards softness and floral fruit. Aged for 36 months in large oak vats.
