Tasting Note:

Tight-wound, intense and gripping with gently fragrant notes of cool, crisp red berry flavours mixed with deeper, darker notes of earth and peppery spice. Very intense and profound, taut yet powerful. This needs time but has all of the elements to blossom into a great, great bottle. Le Ragnaie’s Riccardo Campinoti believes this to be “My best vintage, a nice combination of a great season and the experience I have been building up over the years. Everything happened at the right time, the season was mild and balanced, the grapes were in perfect shape.” From a single plot called Ragnaie, next to the estate, planted in the 60s, which at 550 metres above sea level, are among the very highest vines in Montalcino. The wine is aged in the same way as the estate’s regular Brunello in large 25hl Slavonian oak barrels for 36 months. 3000 bottles were produced.
