Tasting Note:

A beauty. This is all about finesse and poise. Exquisitely balanced, ethereal red fruit notes of wineberry, alpine strawberry, red cherries, rose and fresh-cut flower. Refined, taut and gripping this boasts the elegance to seduce now, although leaving this to age for several years in bottle would do the wine far more justice. Breath-taking. The Scavinos have 1.5 hectares in this great Cru, one of the finest vineyards in Barolo. A sandy south and The vines are old, dating back to 1942. This is released as a Riserva and so is aged for one year in barriques and two years in large oak casks, followed by a year in bottle.
