Fiano di Avellino, 2016

10 cases, 1 bottle
£12.17 per bottle

Tasting Note:

A vibrant and expressive character, fragrant lime blossom, herb and citrus fruit. The clarity of aroma is mirrored on the palate with juicy fresh flavours of lime zest, chervil, stone and mineral. As racy it is this is far from aggressive, the fully ripe fruit has brought roundness and harmony to the wine. Individual, complex, intense and with fantastic energy. A Fiano from the prime zone of Lapio in the Avellino region, planted at 650 metres above sea level with varying east, west and north exposures, but never south – it gets to ripe according to owner Ercole Zarrella. Fermented in tank with half of the cuvee undergoing two days’ worth of skin contact. The wines are then aged sur lie in tank for 10 months with a further 3 months refinement in bottle before release.
