Tasting Note:

A more open Guardiola than usual but as ever on the darker more brooding side of the Terre Nere spectrum. Compact, dense dark but very crisp fruit flavours of bramble and plum mixed with notes of earth, rocks and fruit stone. A complex, characterful Etna that will need a year or two longer in bottle than the Santo Spirito to give of its best. The estate's highest vineyard ranging from 800 to 1000 meters above sea level. The vineyard is sheer, craggy and packed with stone and volcanic sand, the soil is poor.
