Tasting Note:

As ever the most sinewy of the range, if show just a little more flesh than usual. Dark and stony, crisp crunchy hedgerow and cherry fruit mixed with salt, earth and dry stone notes, chiselled and imposing. The estate's highest vineyard ranging from 800 to 1000 metres above sea level. The vineyard is sheer, craggy and packed with stone and volcanic sand, the soil is poor. The wines tend to be the most tannic and tight-wound of the range. Ageing is for 18-20 months in a mixture of barriques, demi muids and large barrels of used wood.
