    Justerini & Brooks Tasting note
    Duemani, Duemani, 2012

An aromatic mix of fresh fruit and sweet spice. Gripping fresh berry flavours mixed with oak spice notes. Intense and with clear lines, racy crisp forest berry and cherry fruit with touches of Mediterranean herb. Long, streamlined, powerful but most importantly of all, lively! Cabernet Franc seems to have found a new home, on the Tuscan coast. Duemani’s owners Elena Celli and Luca d’Attoma were the first to realise the potential of this grape here and produced a 100% Cabernet Franc, named after the estate. Now this trend seems to have caught on with others in the region doing the same. Biodynamically farmed. Fermented and aged for 18 months in 80 percent new oak. 750 cases were made.

    ABV:

The 2012 Duemani has really come together over the last year, but it is still going to need more time for the firm tannins to soften. Today, it is the wine density that stands out most. Pomegranate, raspberry and spice notes abound in a wine that captures the full intensity and radiance of the vintage. Varietal character takes a bit of a backseat in the 2012. It will be interesting to see if more Cabernet Franc notes emerge with further bottle age.
