Tasting Note:

A wine of considerable charm, wonderful purity and very fine tannins, this combines lovely ripe dark cherry and herbal dark chocolate flavours with fresh tobacco and fine earth. Coming from the poor, flinty soils at the top of the slope and aged entirely in used oak barriques, Haut de la Butte tends to drink well on release, but certainly has the stuffing to age.
