“2018 and 2019 were close to each other in maturity but I was looking to make something particularly approachable in 2018” Thibaud intoned. And this truly is ‘Une vague de fraicheur’ across the palate, with a lovely clear profile with mouth-watering salty apricot fruit and lime zest. There’s definitely a little extra flesh here but no lack of detail and focus. After ten years of making these wines it feels like the Boudignon style is embodied by a domaine Anjou like this.
