Tasting Note:

Such a different animal to the Domaine, here the nose is all stuck match, gun-flint, smoky and reductive in a fine white burgundian manner “why it happens I don’t know, everyone always asks, maybe it’s the schist, this cuvee is just always like that” Thibaud shrugged. It is very striking. After 9 months in demi-muid and fuder, with no racking or battonage, this spends a further 6 months in tank before bottling. Under the smoke on the nose there is a fantastically powerful citrus and nut element, a saline finish and tremendous focussed power. This parcel of old vines sits exclusively on schist and produces Thibaud’s most Burgundian cuvee.
