A truly delicious Dom Pérignon
2006 Dom Pérignon is beautiful. The product of a generally warm, dry year, the 2006 is full to brimming with luminous fruit and layered textures. We believe it outshines 2004 and is the best Dom Pérignon since 2002. As great fans and supporters of this iconic Champagne house, we are delighted to be able to offer a pre-release price to our customers of £455 per six bottles ib.
In contrast to some of the ripest vintages the 2006 initially opens with a nose of fine citrus and smoky flint notes. There is nothing remotely opulent about it, in fact the dominant impression is one of elegance and a great precision. Taut, crystalline fruit and rock salt notes hardly prepare you for a palate that boasts superb concentration and richness of fruit, seamlessly supported by fine, bright acidity. The ripeness of the year has imbued the fruit on display with an intensity and vinosity that is as delicious as it is compelling. A very fine bead and impressive length add structure and provide a sense of lift at the finish which implies this is a Dom Pérignon with a long future ahead of it.
