Central Otago

Grape Variety:

Chardonnay, Block 2, Central Otago, 2018

Tasting Note:

A relatively reserved nose of citrus. A more open palate boasting juicy, ripe ruby grapefruit character with hints of hazelnut. Vivid yet with a creaminess and roundness to it. Fluid and persistent. Unlike the Bannockburn Chardonnay, the block chardonnays are all made from the famous Mendoza clone, giving a distinct citrus edge to the wines. An east facing site of 25 year old vines, rather old by New Zealand standards. Aged for 16 months in used French oak barrels.
