The Tribut are a quiet and unassuming couple who live in the village of Poinchy where they make minute quantities of exquisite Chablis. This is a veritable small family business that sees Laurent working in his 5 hectares of vines and making the wine (with his young daughter who is studying viticulture in Beaune soon to join him) while his wife, Marie-Clotilde., looks after business matters. Like his brother-in-law, Vincent Dauvissat, Laurent believes in ageing his wines in oak barrels (7 to 8 years old) after fermentation in steel cuves. The provenance of the oak is mixed (Allier, Vosges, Chatillons) which adds complexity to his mineral yet unctous wines. They age gracefully so you can cellar even the Chablis Villages for 8 to 10 years and be rewarded with a mouthwateringly intense imbibing experience.
