Coudoulet de Beaucastel, Rouge, 2021

Tasting Note:

The Coudoulet parcels sit just outside the delimited CNDP zone to the east but are primarily comprised of the same galet roules soils which means it is often referred to as the “Baby Beaucastel”. History dictates that it ages supremely well in fact, comfortably up to two decades depending on the vintage. A classic blend of 30% Grenache, 30% Mourvèdre and 20% Syrah and 20% Cinsault, the 2021 is glossy and attractive aromatically with lashings of bramble and lavender, supple juicy cherries, garrigue and lush, sweet tannins. There is lots to like here. Bottled after 18 months in foudré.
