A more complex blend than the Abelard with Grenache in it but a much higher proportion of Syrah, more restrained and svelte, reserved but very ripe and peppery dark berry fruit flavours, beautifully textured, rich but precise and lively, hints of "Northern Rhone" cracked pepper and coal dust with a southern warmth and generosity too, smooth and superbly balanced.
