Châteauneuf du Pape, 2011

Tasting Note:

As always when tasted in its youth, this is very reserved at first glance; the palate shows excellent freshness, tight-packed, elegant, ripe red berry flavours; with aeration the palate comes to life and bursts with intense vivid fruit characteristics. A Grenache dominated wine blended with Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault and Clairette. All from the fine La Crau vineyard in the Bédarrides commune. The grapes are part de-stemmed and after fermentation the wine is aged for ten months in concrete vats followed by ten months in wooden foudres.
