Tasting Note:

A Grenache dominated blend with up to 15 % Mourvedre, 15% Syrah and some Cinsault. The Mourvedre is aged in 2-3 year old barriques, the rest of the varieties are aged in large old casks. 80% of the Grenache used for this blend comes from 100 year old vines. The wine is deep, bright purple in colour, the palate is velvety but not too rich in fact there is a juiciness and fruitness that make it very uplifting, notes of violet, bramble, kirsch and plum with more complex touches of pepper and liquorice, more tannic than the 2007 but less structured than the 2005. Impressive and wonderfully balanced.
