Tasting Note:

100% Syrah Côte-Rôtie from 30-year-old vines situated neat Ampuis, fermented with an element of whole bunches, 25% in 2009 and then aged in 50% new oak barrels, bottling takes place in the second spring following the vintage. This must be the best Gallet Blanc François has made, cool but generous, creamy and ripe without being sickly, so stylish and elegant but with great intensity, crushed berries, cassis, red cherry, summer pudding sap, pepper and herb flavours with richer hints of griotte to the finish. A beauty.
