Tasting Note:

A blend of Syrah, Grenache with some Mourvèdre and Cinsault, from differing southern Rhône villages, including Rasteau, Vinsobres, Visan and Cairanne. The Syrah comes mainly from the coolest part of the southern Rhone, Vinsobres, which gives backbone and nerve to the wine whilst nearby Visan lends a softness to the Syrah part of the blend. Rasteau and Cairanne provide the Mourvedre and Grenache, representing the sunnier more southern side of the blend. A Cotes du Rhone of warmth and charm that stylistically leans towards the north, notes of dark fruit, garrigues, pepper and salt mixed with background Grenachey notes of kirsch. Great character and density whilst showing good energy and life. The blend is aged in a mixture of large wooden vat and small fut, no new oak is used.
