Tasting Note:

Darker, denser and more velvety than the regular Chateauneuf. Brambly, brooding flavours of dark forest berry, black cherry, crème de mure and crushed black pepper. A stunning quality of fruit is evident beneath a solid, muscular frame. Initially burly but with hidden charm. A wine of the traditional mould that will need several years in bottle to give of its best, but afforded patience has a regular habit of ageing astonishingly well. An exemplary old vines cuvée aged in four-to-ten-year-old wooden casks. A similar blend to the straight Châteauneuf with more Mourvèdre, 25%, and less Syrah. Just 5000 bottles were produced.
