Tasting Note:

A blend of 65% Grenache, 30% Mourvèdre and 5% Syrah. You really pick up the Mourvèdre on nose, spicy and brooding. Dark but fresh fruits on the palate seasoned with strong salt and pepper spice overtones. Lots of tannin but much more velvety than the regular Châteauneuf. Quite dense but lots freshness of fruit, lovely dark cherry characteristics. Gutsy but classy and balanced too. The Mourvèdre does this wonders. An exemplary old vines cuvée aged in four-to-ten-year-old wooden casks. Less than 5,000 bottles were produced.
