Tasting Note:

A ripe, aromatic fruit profile on the nose. Very much the silkier end of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape spectrum. Slick, warming and smooth, dark fruit. A heady mix of summer pudding, damson and bramble with strong overtones of and creme de mure and vanilla pod on the finish. Rich but with a certain elegance and great sensuality. A Grenache dominated wine with 15% Mourvèdre, both coming from the Croix de Bois vineyard, but also including some Counoise from Le Pointu (a fine vineyard of sandy soils in the Rayas/Nalys sector.) Ageing is part in tank and part oak demi muid barrels. More bunches were destemmed than usual in 2018 meaning there was less than 15% whole bunch fermentation.
