Tasting Note:

La Landonne is often one of the most closed cuvées in Rostaing’s cellar, powerful and muscle-bound it usually does not reveal its true qualities for at least 10 years after the vintage. So the 2009 took me totally by surprise, it still has that binding, tannic, slightly brooding quality but what fruit! Ripe fresh cherry flavours, richer hints of griotte, notes of cassis and Victoria plum, very long cool and composed and immensely powerful with a distinct and very appealing salinity running through it.
