Tasting Note:

At 2HA the Hoe-Steen remains an important component in the main Chenin. A small selection is then kept aside for the single vineyard bottling. The 2020 exudes beeswax and pollen notes with traces of dried lemon. Broad and enveloping but not as creamy as in the past. A more tapered, pared back expression. Notes of blood orange, iron and stones. Very pure. 13% ABV. Southern slopes. Extensive programmes undertaken to restore the nutrients and biological life in the soil – efforts that have clearly been paying off. 3.5pH in 2019 with 5.4g TA but in 2020 3.3pH and 5.4g/l TA.
