Tasting Note:

2018 is the second vintage with no Chardonnay in the blend. In 2017 and 2018 Donovan felt that “the Chardonnay makes the wine feel too broad” thus the 2018 arrived at 60% Chenin Blanc 35% Verdelho and 5% (half a barrel) of Viognier, picked as early as possible. About 70% Swartland fruit overall, the rest from Stellenbosch, raised in used barrels for 11 months. Shapely, bright and clear-cut flavours of apple, lemongrass and jasmine, with notes of plum skin and white peaches. A gorgeous, refined white blend imbued with freshness, complexity and extraordinary length of flavour. Beautiful.
