Pinot Noir, Ridge, Hemel en Aarde, 2017

Tasting Note:

An east facing sloped vineyard at 300m elevation, benefitting from morning sun which makes for a slow, steady ripening. Broadly similar marginal soils as in the Ignis but but generally a spicier and more complex thanks to the longer hang time. The most intense of the three Pinots with lots of acidity. More violet in colour, the palate heads toward baking slices and lavender, sour cherries and damson fruit. Lovely, vigorous, cleansing Pinot but with depth and a quality structure of tannin.
