Tasting Note:

Another debut in 2020, the Grenache Rose is produced from a young granite (Paardeberg) site shared with David Sadie of David & Nadia wines. Pale in colour but not lacking for intensity, the granite minerality and saline streak runs through this really very sophisticated Grenache – inspired by delicate Southern French examples but, in our view, with lots more character, it offers up notes of watermelon, pomegranate, citrus and cranberries with a twist of spice and salt on the finish. Incredibly moreish and surely set to compete with Lukas Van Loggerenberg’s Break a Leg as one of the most interesting new wave Roses in South Africa. Raised in neutral 500L barrels and kept on the lees for 6 months before botting.
