Tasting Note:

A Pinotage to win over hearts and minds, Jolandie has again bottled a fine, sanguine and expressive example that is more than reminiscent of a lively, translucent Cabernet Franc or cru Beaujolais, such is its lovely brambly and red fruit profile. Again bottled at just over 12% alcohol this is a fresh, juicy example of a much maligned grape variety, produced from a 49 year old single bush vine site on the Paardeberg. South facing (cool exposition), Jolandie picks in two tranches before starting with the white harvest, so as to capture prettier aroma. Produced with 30% whole bunches in open top wooden fermenters with only one punch down a day, extractions are gentle and skin contact is kept to just two weeks. Raised in a combination of used 300L and 500L barrels.
