Tasting Note:

Aguja del Fraile (needle of the friar) takes its name from the mountain tops around the local village of Cadalso de los Vidrios and is sourced from four predominantly east-facing plots averaging 800m altitude and 70 year old vines. More homogenous in terms of elevation than Cien Lanzas. East and north facing so a longer growing cycle and cooler in in style. Soils are poorer and rockier. Wild blueberries and blackberries with more curt, energetic tannins and hints of iron.
