Tasting Note:

A single 1 hectare plot in the village of San Martin de Valdeiglesias, where the soil has a slightly higher amount of clay over granite and big boulders with an average of 80 year old vines. The vineyard is surrounded by olive trees and almonds and the wine is more immediate than La Isilla, offering up lovely tapered sweet red fruit with depth and salinity. 1300 bottles total production, equivalent to 2 x 500L barrels. The vineyard was generally in better condition and more productive than La Isilla when they took it over, and they have since planted more vines recently. Red cherries, more mid palate sweetness, velvety tannins, quite open even early on. Some notes of forest fruit and dark chocolate. Lovely flow and richness. Immediately attractive. The product of strict selection in the vineyard, the rest of the grapes are declassified in to Tierra de Luna.
