Quinta da Corte, Vintage Port, 1997

‘Wonderful aromas of blackberry, lilac and a bit of stems. Full-bodied, with silky tannins, medium sweetness and a long finish. Solid. Needs a little time still. Seems to be coming together now. '77/'85/'97 blind Port retrospective. Best after 2008. 3,100 cases made. 95 Points’. James Suckling, Wine Spectator

About Delaforce

The Delaforce family have been involved in port making since 1834. They rapidly became known as one of the leading port wine companies based in the Alto Douro in Portugal. They have developed a reputation for outstanding blending and ageing skills.

Appellation: Douro

The Douro valley is the home of Port production and is one of the oldest demarcated wine regions in the world. The vineyards follow a band of Schist along the valley rising up in steep terraced slopes from the river. Upstream lies Spains Ribera del Duero. Increasingly, unfortified wines are produced here, but it is really for great vintage port that the region is known.
