Sancerre Équilibre Domaine Agisson 2021

In 2017, together with his wife Stephanie, they launched Domaine Agisson and released their first cuvée Sancerre, Équilibre. Hailing from a 0.3 hectare, south facing plot in Sury-en-Vaux. They farm with care and focus, following organic and biodynamic principals that naturally expresses the terroir.

In the winery whole clusters are gently pressed and naturally fermented using indigenous yeast. The wine is matured on its fine lees for a year in a mix of demi-muids and cigar shaped barrels that were initially designed for Didier Dagueneau’s renowned Silex wines. Sulphur is kept to a minimum and the wines are bottled unfined and unfiltered. Équilibre 2021, is a spectacular Sancerre that’s both delicate and alluring, with terroir-derived texture running through its core.

"The 2021 Équilibre packs a lot of concentration in its light-bodied, light-on-its-feet core. There's never any heaviness here, sitting calmly and silky in the mouth, without any rush. It's an aromatic expression with an almost herbal tea-like character reminiscent of lemon verbena, chamomile and a distant note, as if an echo, of green gooseberry nodding to its variety.
