Burgundy 2014

Burgundy 2014
A year of alluring, vineyard-transparent red Burgundies, 2014 is a beautiful vintage that was somewhat overlooked at the time of its original release – when the drums were banging excitedly for the 2015s that were bubbling away in Burgundian cellars. We are finding as much pleasure from the bottles we have been opening recently as we were hoping for from our promising barrel tastings in November 2015. They are a joy to drink and, whilst the quality level of the single vineyards suggest good medium-term ageing capacity, why wait when they are so seductive now? Apart from being downright delicious, they also have the added bonus of looking like great value. They were released as we celebrated the 25th year of our Burgundy En Primeur tasting and offer, a pioneering annual event that we kick-started with the inaugural 1990 vintage. Pre 2015 price increases and purchased in the heady days of 1.35 euros to the pound, the 2014s are a veritable bargain. We are delighted to offer this broad selection: From Givry to Clos de Bèze and everything in between, one hundred wines spanning twenty four different producers.
