Burgundy Buyer's Gems
21 January 2020

Burgundy’s success over the last decade has been well-documented, as have the price rises associated with the resulting increase in demand and limited supply. Many of the domaines in the Côte de Nuits have reached superstar status, leaving behind them a southern trail of under-appreciated, and under-valued, gems from the Côte de Beaune. At Justerini & Brooks we feel this disparity is thoroughly unjustified. Winemaking has never been better here and some truly great wines are being made in Pommard, Volnay, Beaune and Corton. Furthermore 2018 was particularly fine for the Côte de Beaune, where the vintage was at its most consistent, it was also a notable year for whites, too. To this end, today’s focus is on four personal favourites, lesser known gems that fly under the radar, and the price rises, of better-known contemporaries.
