Soulful and magnetic are two qualities that can be equally attributed to the Duemani vineyards and their wines. Farmed bio-dynamically and bottled without fining or filtration, these are pure expressions of this magical terroir, set on the wild hillsides 350m above sea level and 10km inland from the north Tuscan coast. Never mind the hocus pocus that can surround this method of viticulture, Luca d’Attoma and Elena Celli are serious individuals, passionate about making great wine in a way that is sensitive to the environment from which they originate. Not only are these electric wines made with respect for nature, they are incredibly precise and delicious to drink, too. A formula we like!

The wet 2014 vintage had its challenges, and the Suisassi cuvee was a casualty of it – the Syrah grapes and bunches being too big and tightly-packed to resist the onslaught of rot. So Elena and Luca put all of their energies into the Cabernet Franc and Merlot. Cabernet Franc, in particular, having smaller berries and looser bunches fared well. A ruthless selection was still required and smaller quantities have been made than ever before, but the resulting wine will only serve to strengthen Duemani’s quickly rising stock. From a stellar domaine at the top of their game, the Duemani 2014 is bustling with charm, warmth and brightness.
