Duemani's Seductive 2015 vintage

A more meticulous vine-grower and winemaker you will not meet. Duemani’s Luca d’Attoma knows exactly how to get the best out of his ideally-located vineyards. Sitting just to the north of Bolgheri, his high-altitude vines are located in the hills of Riparbella at 350 metres above sea level and as such benefit from strong coastal breezes, making them well-placed to deal with 2015’s heat and sunshine. Great terroir does not always equal great wine, though. A watchful eye on picking date and fermentations were necessary. The hot start to the year, in Spring and early Summer, were tempered by a milder than usual August. Ripening continued gradually and steadily as a result. However the heat returned for harvest. Quality was far from a given. Picking on the right day and the right time of day was crucial. Furthermore, judging the extraction levels of these fully ripe and concentrated grapes was critical to the success of the vintage. Responding to this challenge Luca fermented his 2015s for no longer than fifteen days. The results? Impeccably balanced and supremely seductive wines that offer great richness together with stunning purity and precision of fruit. These rank among Tuscany’s finest wines.
