Duhart Milon is more than ever a chip off the old block. Domaines Barons de Rothschild’s other Pauillac vineyards are later ripening than those of Lafite. In the past, Duhart has distinguished itself in hotter years, but now through better understanding of the terroir and viticultural advances, they're finding greater consistency and poise. The 2021 is one of the finest examples we’ve ever tasted with a graphite centric nose, cool dark fruits, minerals and a hint of violets. Impressive and classy, yet restrained and tense, it is very much cut from the same cloth as its more illustrious neighbour. We believe this represents one of the best values from Pauillac and will thrill purists looking for serious, classically styled claret.
“Incorporating fully 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2021 Duhart-Milon unwinds in the glass with aromas of sweet berries, cigar wrapper and pencil shavings. Medium to full-bodied, lively and persuasively concentrated, with beautifully refined tannins and a long, penetrating finish, it's a classy, serious wine that reflects all the progress this estate has been making over the last decade. 91-93+/100”
