The wines live up to the hype: Seamless, complex, silky and bright. Each vineyard expresses its character vividly. These are the most complete wines we have ever tasted from this stellar Etna estate. Amid the torrential downpours across Italy, Etna was a veritable oasis in 2014. After a mild winter, Spring was late and rainy whilst summer was warm and blessed with intermittent showers. Veraison in August was unexpectedly protracted. However, while the rest of Italy was trudging through the mud, Terre Nere was able to wait for ripeness and pick at their leisure until the vintage finally culminated at the end of October. The vines were never put under any stress whatsoever and this is reflected in the ease, grace and harmony of the resulting wines. A vintage to remember.
