"Pascal Doquet's champagnes are among the finest in the Côte des Blancs, marked by a rare intensity of soil expression and a sleek, sophisticated harmony."
These are the comments in an overview of Pascal Doquet by Peter Liem, author of www.champagneguide.net, a professional wine critic living in Champagne who produces one of the most comprehensive online reports on Champagne there is.
We are equally passionate about the quality of Pascal Doquet's Champagnes: His strictly organic wine-growing and terroir-based approach to Champagne production single him out as one of the most unique and exciting talents in the region.
We are delighted to offer today three new releases, 2004 Mesnil Grand Cru, a first release of library stocks of the 1995 Mesnil and the 1er Cru Blanc de Blancs which is a new cuvee to us. The latter is made from a blend of fruit that comes from the 1er Crus Vertus and Mont Aime with 2007 at its base (whilst also including the 2006, 2005 and 2004 vintages in the blend,) this is a tremendously good value, silky, fresh and beautifully balanced Champagne.
Pascal's Mesnil cuvees are some of the region's most complex, gourmand and sophisticated wines. Made from fruit grown on his oldest parcels in Mesnil, half vinified in oak barrels, these layered, vinous Champagnes deserve a place in any enthusiast's cellar.
