It wasn’t that long ago people didn’t even believe New Zealand existed. It wasn’t even on the map. And to the uninitiated, the wines of New Zealand are still a new discovery, which is something of a travesty.

This land on the other side of the world, populated by trailblazers and dreamers is a hotbed of winemaking activity. Since 1989, Palliser Estate has harnessed the potential of seven unique plots on the Martinborough Terrace, bordered by the Ruamahanga and Huangarua Rivers. The terroir is characterised by a stony silt loam overlaying varying depths of ancient free draining river gravels. These soils and the harsh, marginal climate combine to produce fruit that is vibrant and alive.
